Last time I tried to use edublogs from work, posting caused a permissions conflict and crashed IE. It’s a new school year and I am hopeful, so let’s see if this will work.
My name is Matt Clausen, and I teach high school English at the Willard Alternative Program in Missoula, MT. This fall will be the start of my sixth year at Willard and my 11th year of teaching overall. My major research interest is integrating technology into the existing curriculum, but I am going to use this space to explore the teaching of English–reading, writing, and critical thinking. Naturally, some discussion of technology will creep in, but mostly, I blog about tech integration over at InfoConvo.
In an effort to be well rounded, I have been a competitive fencer for 15 years. I also try to find time to hike and bike the wilds of Montana.
I am at the blogging session because I am leading the session (grin). My interest in blogs as an educational tool started two years ago as part of my Masters work in integrating technology. My hope is that the discussions started in this session give the participants the basics they need to start working blogs into their own teaching practice as a professional development tool, a learning tool for students, or both.
